The 2008 AUSA Annual Meeting, the world's largest landpower forum, brings together America's Army. Active, Guard and Reserve, retirees, family members and civilians.[1] The U.S. Army Exhibit was the centerpiece of this year's meeting, held October 6-8 at the Washington Convention Center.
The largest presence at the show, The U.S. Army Exhibit had a massive 110' x 60' footprint. Scecon worked closely with several other teams in bringing together hundreds of workers and thousands of elements to make this one of the best showings to date. The exhibit, which this year featured a strong emphasis on Army communities and families, was heavily trafficked and well-received by all.
The exhibit was segmented into several zones, each with a different focus within the overall theme. The largest section, the Warrior's Corner, featured 3 massive video screens for presentation and key speakers, including General Petraeus. Behind this was a theater, which featured 2 short videos. Next to the entrance of the theater was the Gallery of Heroes, a large display teaching visitors about different medals awarded by the Army, and listing soldiers who have received them. The back of the exhibit had 2 floating information screens where guided demos taught visitors more about the Army's role in our community. Surrounding these were several individual computer kiosks, as well as the Faces of Strength display, highlighting soldiers and members of their families that have shown exceptional strength and the values of the Army.
Scecon provided the overall design of the exhibit, which included all the physical elements, as well as carpeting, lighting, and electronics. Additionally, these elements were crafted in our workshop and installed by our own team.
Additional information can be found on the Army Exhibit Home Page.
Scecon has also worked with the Army for AUSA and WAUSA in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. We also have created smaller exhibits for the Pentagon and traveling displays.
