The NEA Foundation, through the unique strength of its partnership with educators, advances student achievement by investing in public education that will prepare each of America’s children to learn and thrive in a rapidly changing world.[1]
The NEA Foundation’s Salute to Excellence in Education Gala honors all those who work in and support America’s public schools, colleges, and universities. On February 8th, 2007, over 900 education and corporate leaders and government officials gathered at the National Building Museum in D.C. to celebrate the 12th Annual Salute to Excellence in Education Gala.
The theme this year was New Orleans and Mardi Gras. The design was simplistic in approach, allowing the lighting and existing architecture of the building to be integrated into the overall atmosphere. Scecon provided the 28' x 12' staging area, along with a backstage area. We also designed and created the decoration for the event, featuring the oversized Mardi Gras masks.
Scecon has also worked with NEA for the 10th and 11th Annual Salute to Excellence in Education Galas.
