The U.S. Senate press briefing room was beginning to show its age. It was not an ideal solution for the contemporary needs of the press and was no longer of a caliber befitting the Senate. All the elements of the room were carefully redesigned to take full advantage of new technologies and promote the stoic and distinguished atmosphere of the Senate.
This project was awarded to us based on our quality of execution on the House of Representatives set, which the design of this set was based upon.
All wall surfaces were built using a high quality laminate. The columns are complete rounds, crafted from resin with higher detail faux art finish. The existing carpet was replaced with new carpet that has 3" accent stripe border with pattern. The back wall is laminate paneling complete with side walls finished to five feet on side walls for camera overshoot
A removable center thrust was included, and was carpeted to match new platform carpet. The 3-dimensional U.S. Senate Seal on the back wall is an elegant blend of graphic printing, hand painting, and etched wood. An optional graphic is included - the U.S. Seal is removed and this graphic is hung in its place.
The podium was finished with a high quality laminate. The podium relief is lit to produce a gradient accent. The seal on the podium is also 3-dimensional, similar to the Senate Seal on the back wall. The podium has an adjustable step included as an option to the base. The interior of the podium is finished and included a water shelf.
